THE EFFECT
The Performer shows the audience 6 gold envelopes number 1 to 6. Inside each is a different illustrated answer to the question ‘Who is Jesus.’ Only one is correct. A volunteer is invited up-to-the front to play a game called 'Holy Roller!'. The Performer explains that the volunteer will roll the die on the red cloth and use the result to pick 5 of the 6 gold envelopes. If the correct answer is in any of the 5 envelopes they will win a £20 prize! The Performer gets to keep the contents of the last remaining envelope.

The game is played and against the odds the correct answer is in the last envelope! Jesus was not Crazy, Bad or just a Wise Teacher, a Prophet or an earthly King. Jesus was the Messiah.The Performer gets to keep the £20. The volunteer sits back down with a consolation prize.
The Performer then uses the square of red cloth as an object lesson about the death and resurrection of Jesus. The cloth is used to illustrate that the soldiers rolled the dice for Jesus clothes beneath the cross, the temple curtain was torn, the strips of cloth were found in the empty tomb and God clothes us in righteousness. Simple, powerful and to the point.
