THE EFFECT
You take a small plastic glass and fill it with red wine or orange juice. A spectator checks that's it a real glass and a real cup. They can even take a sip if they want.
Placing the glass in your outstretched hand, you squeeze your palms together, say the magic words. When you lift your hand the glass and liquid have completely vanished.

PRESENTATION IDEAS
Here are three ways to supercharge this effect and get laughter and applause from your audience.
The 'Wrong' Effect - You announce that you will change the juice in the cup into milk. You cover the cup with your other hand, say the magic words and when you remove your hand ... the glass has completely vanished!
Look but Don't Show - You cover the cup with your hand say the magic words and then take a peak. 'Yes the cup has gone.' The audience will demand to see. 'Ah but the difficult bit is to bring it back.' More magic words, another peak. 'Yes it's back. Don't believe me? Look!' and you reveal cup. Now imagine the audience's response when you actually vanish it!
Premature Magic - You explain that when everyone shouts 'Vamoose' the cup will disappear from your hand. 'Ok, after the count of three...' As you say this you casually cover and uncover the cup making it vanish. By time you've counted to three, the audience will be shouting out that the cup has already vanished!
