This is a blooming marvellous effect! The flowers bloom not once but twice from this bouquet; twice the magic for on one of our all time favourite magic effects.
The magician displays a bouquet of leaves with 8 beautiful purple and orange blossoms. Feeling green-fingered, he visibly plucks the flower heads off and tosses them away. A magical pass, and 8 yellow flowers slowly and visibly reappear on the stem! Once again these are plucked off and tossed away. Another magical pass and 8 red flowers magically grow on the stalks.
Great at any celebration - Easter, Mother's Day, Christmas, anniversary or a birthday.
PRESENTATION IDEAS
This colourful effect can be performed with patter or simply to music. You could use the bouquet as a running gag through your show, trying to get the flowers to grow using sunshine (a white or yellow light-up thumb tip maybe), water (from a Lota Vase), singing to it and so on.
It is ideal to use with a puppet. The naughty puppet can appear to pluck off the flowers when you’re not looking – and the kids will be quick to let you know! With a little magic, you put everything right again of course.

– Restoring Hope
Display the bouquet of flowers. As you tell the story of disappointments we all face in life, the flowers fall off. You remove each flower from the bouquet and drop the flowers into any change bag. You then produce a colourful Jesus silk, as you start to talk about God restoring hopes and dreams. You can now make the coloured buds appear on the tips of the leaves and finally blossoms into a bouquet of eight flowers. We can also supply the change bag and the silks (sold separately)
- He Loves Me, He Loves me Not
Talking about earthly relationships, you can explain how many people put their faith in a partner – a boyfriend or girlfriend for example. They may love you, but some earthly relationships don’t last. As you say this you can pluck each flower off, say “She loves me, she loves me not” The one unfailing, unending love that we can always trust in though…is God’s love. His love is infinite, and can surprise us and comfort us - even in difficult times. As you say this, the flowers slowly bloom once more.
