The steel ball is clearly LARGER than the diameter of the tube. However, you can make the ball slowly sink down INTO the tube, and then slowly rises back UP again. Of course should anyone else try, they'll find that the ball is TOO SMALL and falls right through the tube.

An effect that draws every one in. Here's how we like to present it. Place the ball on top of the tube and ask everyone to imagine that the ball is getting smaller. They'll be floored when the ball slowly sinks into the tube. Reverse the process and ask them to imagine that the ball is getting larger. Up the ball rises.

The sinking and rising ball is a great illustration for Jesus' death and resurrection. Here's a couple more ways you can use this in church and evangelism.

With God it's Possible - Somethings are just impossible. It's impossible for this ball to pass through this tube. And there are things we find impossible to do in our own strength. Like forgiving someone who's badly hurt us, or overcoming an addiction. But with God all things are possible.
