EFFECT
The performer presents two chalkboards which are blank on both sides. The two boards are placed on top of each other, secured by rubber bands and handed to a spectator. A volunteer secretly picks a card. The performer waves a piece of chalk over the boards. When the boards are separated, the name of the card has magically been written on the board. Impossible!

Magic doesn't get any more direct, cleaner or impossible, and it's so versatile. These boards can reveal ANY word, name, card, number, symbol or image. Think of the possibilities; ask your spectator to:
- choose a card- and a sketch of the card will materialise on the board.
- pick a word from a book - and the word is magically written on the board.
- pick three random numbers - and the boards magically add them up and give you the total
- let the birthday child wave their hands over the boards, and open them to reveal the Happy Birthday message!

You're in complete control of what's written on the boards, so you can use this prop for ANY biblical message and story.
- A CLEAN SLATE - The word SIN is written on both boards, which is then magically wiped clean. 'I wipe away your sins...I will forget the wrongs you have done.' Isaiah 43:25
- THE LIVING WORD - A biblical word, phrase or verse appears on the boards. 'The Holy Spirit...will teach you all things and remind you of all I have said.' John 14:26
- THE WRITING ON THE WALL - 'The fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall...Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin' Daniel 5:5,25
- THE TEN COMMANDMENTS - are magically reproduced on the two 'tablets'. 'God gave him the two tablets of the covenant law...inscribed by the finger of God.' Exodus 31:18
PRESENTATION IDEAS
- KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU - A spectator picks a name of a music group (e.g. Abba) out of a clear bag. The piece of paper is burnt, and the ashes dropped onto the Spirit Slates. When the boards are opened, the name Abba is written on one board, and the first line of one of their hits (e.g. Dancing Queen) is on the other. You then burst into song encouraging everyone to sing along!
- NEWTON - The performer asks three spectators for a three-digit number, which is written down on a sheet of paper. A fourth spectator adds these numbers up and tears off the total. The three numbers are torn up and sprinkled onto the board. When the boards are separated, writing is found on both. On one board it says Issac Newton, the famous mathematician, and the other board give the correct total.
- MAGIC COLOURIGN IN- Two boards each have a black and white colouring in picture. The boards are placed together and colours are caught from the air. When the boards are separated, both pictures have been coloured in!
MAGICAL EXCHANGE
The gimmick allows anything flat, like a playing card, banknote or sheet of paper, to be swapped.
- A NICE CHANGE - a £10 note is put between two slates and becomes two £5 notes.
- TAKE A NOTE - a blank piece of paper is put between two boards with a Sharpie pen. When they are separated, writing has magically appeared on the paper.
COMEDY OPENING
- BABY GAG - Ask a spectator the name any movie star. When they give a name, separate the boards and show a drawing of a baby, explaining that is exactly what they looked like when they were younger!
