THE EFFECT
Your helpful volunteer selects a card. It's lost in the deck. Now the show begins. You introduce your magical card duck, who has special powers and will find the card."OUCH!" She pecks at your hand. "WHOA." Now it tries to peck your volunteer. The fun is just beginning. After you've calmed the duck down you decided to blindfold her. "Now she can't see the cards, it's almost impossible to find the card." Ahem!
The deck is placed in her feeding box in front of the duck. Holding the duck in your hands, this will magically move its neck towards the deck, opening its beak and seizing one card from the box. Guess what? The card it picks is the one chosen by the spectator!
PERFORMANCE IDEAS
You and your audience can have a LOT of fun with this naughty duck. Try a Look Don't See gag with the duck picking up cards and throwing them on the floor every time you look away. The children will shout themselves silly trying to tell you what is happening. A great running gag. Finish with the Duck picking the correct card for a big finish! As you can use any deck of cards try cards with letters, and have her spell out a word or name (of the birthday boy or girl) by picking one card after another.
