THE EFFECT
You have a bag, a sunshade/umbrella, a beach mat and 5 different items of clothing. You pop the items in to the bag and say the magic words. The items magically vanish from the bag and the bag changes colour! When you take the umbrella from the rolled up beach mat and open up... the umbrella the fabric has vanished and the items are hanging from the bare frame!
Brian has fun with his magical umbrella - and the kids love it!
PROFESSIONAL PRESENTATION
You ask your two young volunteers to imagine that they are on a beach. You give them a sunshade, a changing mat and a bag for their things. But OH NO - when they go for a swim their bag is stolen! Their clothes and money have gone! What can we do? Why not use a little magic!
Everyone shouts the magic words The bag visibly changes into the fabric of the umbrella and the stolen items have vanished. Where have they gone? There's a surprise waiting for you when you open up the sunshade. The fabric has disappeared and on the end of each bare rib are the missing items.
GOSPEL PRESENTATION
x5 different items are put into the bag - each one representing different ways we can go wrong. We get angry at others. We want what others have. We love money too much. But what happens when we tell God we're sorry. The bag is turned inside out and these items/sins have all disappeared and even the fabric of the bag changes. God has forgiven us and that changes us. How? When the umbrella is opened up it's fabric has disappeared and all the items are hanging from it's bare frame. Jesus dealt with all our sins when he died on the cross for us.
