Three boxes, three 'kingly' gifts, but can you find the gold? A fun all age magical game with a nativity theme and with REAL frankincense and myrrh. Beautiful props, clever magic and only minimal practice required.
The audience is shown three identical boxes. Inside one box are gold coins, and inside the other two are bags of Frankincense and Myrrh. Who does this remind you of? Of course, the three Magi! The boxes are closed and mixed up. A volunteer is invited to the front and freely selects one of them. You open your envelope and reveal your printed prediction 'You will pick GOLD.' When the box is open jaws drop. The prediction was correct - the box contains the gold coins.
Now for a fun Christmas game. The myrrh and frankincense are taken out, and the volunteer hides the gold coins in one of the three empty boxes, while your back is turned. The boxes are mixed up. Against the odds, you can always identify the box that contains the gold coins. After several rounds you change places with your volunteer and the game ends with the volunteer winning a bag of chocolate gold coins. The perfect reminder of the gifts God gives each one of us.
