The magician picks up a can of Coke (or any soft drink) and a glass. Pouring the Coke into the glass he casually lets go and the glass stays suspended in mid-air...whilst the drink is still pouring!
It looks fizz-ically impossible (sorry!) When the can is empty he separates the two, showing no connection...a head-scratching
The method is sneakily simple...and very effective.
This 'cut glass goblet' will float away from your hands!
Performance Tips:
There's a lot of fun to be had by pretending you don't know what's happening.
Start pouring the Coke then turn to the audience and casually let go of the glass whilst talking, apparently distracted. You should at least get gasps from your audience, or may even have them shouting out what has happened (children will usually be the first to point and shout excitedly!) Look all around, confused at what that mean, before finally noticing the suspended glass...then YOU act just as shocked as they are!
This effect can slot into any act with the suggestion of being thirsty between tricks, so needing to briefly pause for refreshment (little do your audience realise that this is actually another trick!)
