Two versions to pick from!
1. Original Version - The Temptations of Jesus
This is great fun. You start by letting your audience in on your secret. First you show the audience your printed prediction in the envelope. You believe your volunteer will pick a card with a picture of the World on it. Secondly you show that the six cards the volunteer can choose from are identical! They all have a picture of the world. Cheeky!
Your unknowing volunteer is invited to select a card. You explain that the world tempts each one of us with Riches, Fame, Power, Sex and Influence. Which temptation will they pick! But here's the first surprise. The card they've picked is one with Jesus on it! Where did that come from?
Then there's a second surprise. When you pull your prediction card out of the envelope it's magically turned into a matching picture of Jesus! A perfect match. Perhaps you're a magician after all.
'Great choice. Jesus was tempted by everything the world had to offer but he said 'No'. Because The world is not enough!'
2. Celebrity Version - The Rich Young Man
The effect is the same as above but replaces the picture of the world with a picture of a famous celebrity. Tells the story of the Rich Young Man and the choice he made between choosing his riches and choosing to follow Jesus.
