The performer brings out a locked wooded box and asks the audience member to open it. Inside is a smaller locked box, and inside that is...the missing ring! 'See, I said it was safe.' Both boxes can be thoroughly examined afterwards.
The boxes also make possible a stunning ending to your favourite mentalism routine. The performer opens the two boxes and take out a piece of paper with a prediction on it, which was locked away before the show had started. On the paper is written the same word, name or number that the volunteer picked. Stunning.
Remember, it's the audience member who opens the boxes and takes out the ring or prediction from the box.
