If you're looking for oodles of spectator interaction, lots of comedy and a big surprise ending this is it! The Comedy Chinese Coin Palace.
This is not just a trick but a whole comedy routine with lots of banter and fun between performer and audience.
NOTE - The video shows the larger version.
The magician shows a handy sized box with two doors that he opens to show it empty inside. In one of the two compartments he puts a Chinese coin and closes the doors. He tilts the box to the right, saying that the coin has disappeared and opens the door on the left to show this. Then he tilts the box to the left and opens the door on the right. And so on several times. The audience is not impressed as each time the magician tilts the box, they see the coin slide from one side to the other. At the end however the magician opens both doors...and the box is completely empty! The coin has vanished! Where is it? The magician turns around to look...and there it is on his back! More shouting, more fun as the magician mishears 'What it's back there?' until the coin it found. Phew. That is a lot of entertainment for one prop.
Highly recommended trick for church workers who want a fun illustration on a message on money. 'See how quickly your money can disappear!' Use the effect to illustrate any biblical story where something or someone is lost and then found e.g. the parable of the Lost Coin, the Lost Sheep and the Prodigal Son.
For a unique Easter message, the box becomes the tomb, the coin is Jesus as you illustrate how the tomb was found empty on that first Easter morning. 'But some people said the disciples had hidden his body' as you tip the box and open a door. 'And even some of his disciples doubted that he had risen,' as you tip the box and open another door. 'All these questions and doubts seemed reasonable except for the fact that his body has really disappeared,' and you reveal that the coin, like Jesus, is no longer there. 'He was raised from the dead and appeared to the disciples many times'. Now you produce the coin from the pages of a Bible.
