THE EFFECT
The cards are shuffled, cut and thoroughly mixed at the direction of the spectator. The cards are dealt into four piles. When each pile is turned over, there's a BIG surprise. Each pile contains cards of just one colour. What are the odds! Astonishing.
GOSPEL PRESENTATION
'The smallest decisions can have the biggest impact. In life we make decisions all the time, small decision and bigger decisions.' The spectator makes four decisions on how the cards are shuffled and cut. 'Three cards from the top of the pack to the bottom.' 'Make a cut right there.' The shuffled cards are dealt into four piles. When each pile is turned over, all the cards are grouped in colours.
'WOW, you've made some great decisions!' The meaning of each of the colour is explained. 'There's bad news and some good news.' The Performer explains that the dark colour reminds us of sin, the Red is for Jesus' sacrifice, White is for forgiveness, and Green is for new life. 'Now you've heard the Good News, there's one important decision left. When Jesus asks you to follow him, what will be your decision?'
PRESENTATION IDEAS
The colours can be used to illustrate almost any biblical story, with a little creativity and wordplay. e.g. Jesus Calms the Storm - The disciples felt sick (Green cards) as the boat was tossed about in the storm (Dark cards). They woke Jesus up, and he told them it would be all ‘wright’ (White Cards). He gave a command and the storm was stilled, and they could see land. (Green cards).
On the back of each card is a yellow castle, reminding us of the Kingdom of Heaven and our heavenly home, where the streets are paved with gold!
