The performer holds up a sealed envelope addressed to one lucky person in the audience. That excited individual comes to the front and is given the envelope. But before they open it up they are asked to reach into a clear flat PVC bag and take out any two cards. The bag holds dozens of small cards, each printed with a different biblical verse and Christmas cracker joke. The joke is read out to groans. The verse read out to cheers. The volunteer then opens the SEALED envelope and takes out a Christmas Card. It has a picture of the Nativity. The surprise comes when they open it. Inside is pasted is EXACTLY the SAME verse and joke they chose at random! WOW - what are the odds of that!
A Christmas miracle? Well no it's a self working trick but the real miracle of Christmas is the birth of Jesus and as the freely selected verse says 'He will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.'
