With a gentle push the solid ball passes through the base of a tumbler! Illustrating how we need to accept Christ into our hearts. This is Scott Dever's unique presentation of Warren Stevens's classic effect, proving itself again and again over many years as a great way to illustrate the biblical truth that 'Christ in Us'.
Bounce the bright yellow ping pong ball on the table and try to catch it in the cup. It rattles about in the tumbler and is then tipped out. The tumbler is turn upside down and placed over a shot glass. The ball is placed on top of the tumbler. The palm of the hand is placed over the ball and a rubbing motion is made. Suddenly the audience hears a PLINK! IMPOSSIBLE! The ball has penetrated through the tumbler's base and can be seen in the shot glass! The tumbler is lifted up and the ball tipped out of the shot glass. IMPOSSIBLE...but everyone saw it happen.
The gospel presentation is fully scripted, honed and polished by Scott Devers on 'Christ in You, the hope of glory' Col 1:27. The upturned tumbler represents us, the shot glass is our heart and the ball is Christ. The message shows how doing religious things isn't enough. We need to accept Jesus INTO our lives.
