Product Description
Ring the changes, with the key to your next fantastic trick!
The Effect
The magician shows a large chrome-plated safe deposit locker key, and hands it out for examination. He then borrows a finger ring from a spectator. Now - completely in the open and without cover of any kind - the magician puts the ring on the key. The key is passed out again, and not even Hercules could remove the ring! The magician takes it back once again and removes the ring as simply and quickly as he put it on. An incredible solid through solid penetration!
Performance Ideas
Borrowing a ring makes for a very magical moment, because the object is precious to your spectator! We recommend using a simple wedding band though, rather than a ring encrusted with diamonds...you don't want to be responsible for missing jewels!
You can either present this effect as a standalone trick, or as a running gag throughout your show - returning to it at regular intervals to see if your spectator has removed it yet. You can include gags about wearing the ring as it is, complete with long ribbon, key and fob (they'll get used to it!)
If you'd prefer not to borrow a ring, here's an alternative idea - buy some cheap plastic rings from a fancy dress shop, along with some small sticky labels. The sticky label can be wrapped around one side of the ring, and signed or marked by your spectator to prove the ring isn't switched. In children's shows in particular, you could let the child keep the ring at the end as a nice souvenir! It is stronger and more personal to use a borrowed ring, but this is another way to do the effect, and to make it work for groups of children.
